Sibyl Quantitative — Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy describes the refund terms for Subscriptions to the Sibyl Quantitative service (the "Service") at sibyl-ai.com. This Policy is part of, and incorporated by reference into, the Terms of Service.
1. Free Trial
New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial of the Sibyl Pro Subscription. During the trial:
- We collect your payment method (via Stripe) but do not charge it.
- You have full access to Sibyl Pro features.
- You may cancel at any time during the trial with no charge.
The 14-day free trial is available to first-time subscribers only. We reserve the right to limit eligibility (for example, to prevent trial abuse via repeated signups).
2. Auto-Renewal
At the end of the 14-day free trial, your payment method will be automatically charged $39.00 USD, and your Subscription will renew monthly thereafter at the same $39.00 USD rate until you cancel.
You will receive an email reminder approximately 7 days before the first charge (end of trial) and before any subsequent renewal that involves a change to your billing terms.
3. How to Cancel
You may cancel your Subscription at any time:
- In-app: open the Sibyl mobile or desktop Settings → "Manage subscription" → cancel through the Stripe-hosted billing portal.
- Stripe direct: visit the Stripe customer portal link emailed in your subscription receipt and cancel from there.
- By email: send a cancellation request to support@sibyl-ai.com from the email address on your Account.
Cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date. After the period ends, your Account reverts to the free tier.
4. Refunds
4.1 During the free trial
If you cancel during the 14-day free trial, you will not be charged. No refund is necessary because no payment was taken.
4.2 Standard policy — paid period
We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-month, you will keep access through the end of the current billing period. The next month's charge will not occur.
This policy is industry-standard for monthly SaaS services and is consistent with the auto-renewal disclosures required by California Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602.
4.3 Exceptions
We will consider full or partial refunds on a case-by-case basis in the following circumstances:
- Extended outage: if the Service has been unavailable for more than 7 consecutive days within a single billing month due to issues on our end (not due to third-party provider outages outside our control, your local internet, or maintenance announced in advance).
- Billing error: if you were charged in error (e.g., a charge after a verified cancellation, a duplicate charge, or an unauthorized charge).
- Unauthorized use: if your Account was used by someone without your authorization, subject to verification.
- Regulatory or legal requirement: any refund mandated by applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
To request a refund under any of these exceptions, email support@sibyl-ai.com from the email address on your Account, including:
- Your Account email
- The Stripe receipt number (in the subject line)
- The reason for the refund request
- For outages: dates the Service was unavailable
We respond to refund requests within 7 business days. Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method and typically appear within 5-10 business days depending on your bank.
5. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at support@sibyl-ai.com before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer. Most disputes can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
Filing a chargeback for a charge that was authorized (e.g., a legitimate auto-renewal you forgot to cancel) is considered fraud by your card issuer and may result in:
- Loss of access to the Service
- A permanent ban from re-subscribing
- A negative report to fraud-detection services used by other merchants
If you genuinely cannot reach us by email and need to dispute a charge, please give us a chance to respond first — we are a small team and we aim to resolve all legitimate concerns.
6. Subscription Suspension and Termination by Sibyl
We may suspend or terminate your Subscription, with or without notice and with or without refund, if:
- You violate the Terms of Service.
- You engage in fraud, abuse, or attempted manipulation of the Service.
- We are required to do so by law, regulation, or court order.
- We discontinue the Service or the specific tier you are subscribed to.
If we discontinue the Service or a tier, we will provide reasonable advance notice (at least 30 days where practicable) and refund any prepaid amounts for service periods not yet provided.
7. Price Changes
We may change the Subscription price from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance of any price change. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the new price takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
